Paying for Graduate School

Saint Louis University offers multiple scholarship, fellowship and assistantship opportunities for new and returning graduate students.

  • Fellowships are awarded to newly accepted master's or doctoral-level students who demonstrate outstanding scholastic achievement and potential for success.
  • All assistantships are awarded by the individual programs and not through the Office of Graduate Admission. Please contact the department to which you are applying for more information.

Additionally, SLU graduate students can seek financial support beyond assistantships and fellowships. To qualify for federal student loans, you must be enrolled in a minimum of three credit hours, meet the eligibility criteria and file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current year. (SLU’s FAFSA code is 002506.)

If you have questions about applying for student loans or need guidance on securing financial assistance for your graduate education expenses, contact Financial Services.
